00:24Fiberskyn banjo heads, manufactured by Remo, are made from the same basic material (Mylar) as standard plastic heads with the addition of Tyvek fused to the surface to increase the weight and mimic the look of a skin head. They are often used by clawhammer players but seldom on bluegrass banjos as they tend to produce a darker sound.
