00:24The word "Chromatic" , as a musical term, refers to the chromatic scale which uses all twelve notes (half steps) in the octave as opposed to eight used by the diatonic scale. In common banjo parlance, it refers to a playing style that is fundamentally melodic but which uses a lot of contrasting pitches and chords that do not typically appear in traditional bluegrass music.
