Bridge Pins  noun \ˈbrij ˈpinz\  Change text size for readability...  Print This Page
00:32Bridge Pins are small tapered pegs made of plastic, wood, bone, ivory or other hard, tough material which are used to anchor the strings in the bridge. They are used primarily on Guitar Family instruments but can be found on other string instruments as well.

The Bridge Pin is used with ball end strings when mounted on a pin bridge, and it acts as a wedge between the ball and the guitar top, to hold the string into place.
